    Finished!

That's right! I am FINALLY done reading Middlemarch. I've been reading it for just over a month.  And the last 100 pages were actually semi-interesting.  Of course, it only took the first boring 700 pages to get there.

On Saturday my roomie and I went shopping and made a stop at Wendy's for some lunch.  As we were leaving, a mom and her son (who was probably about 5)  was coming in.  We met up at the door, and the mom leaned down and whispered to her son to hold open the door for these ladies.  And he did!  It was so cute because he looked a quite confused, but Amanda and I thanked him and then talked about how that was a great mom in the car.  We also swooned, of course.

Yesterday when Ellen and I had some great bonding time when we were hanging out in the hospital waiting room for a few hours.  To keep ourselves busy we were playing mental hangman. It was a lot of fun, especially when I stumped Ellen on "Book."  Of course, she had me stumped on "Chair."  haha ... two pinkies up!  And there was also this family there that had been in a car accident, and when Ellen was taken into the back for her x-rays and stuff (*realizes she forgot to mention that the reason we were at the hospital was because Ellen broke her thumb during a broomball game*), I passed the time by eavesdropping on their conversation.  It made me chuckle a few times because they reminded me of my cousins from West Virginia.  The one guy, who had an injured knee, was talking about how he had just been hunting that morning, and he was glad he went before the accident because now he was having trouble walking.

Also when we were in the waiting room, I composed an haiku about our experience there:

    Emergency room
we have been waiting long time
    not hospitable

And I think that pretty much sums it up.

I took a nap today before my afternoon classes, but was stupid and set my alarm for AM instead of PM, so I missed 2 of my 3 classes today. Way to go, me.

    Looking forward to summer ...
Yup, it's true. I'm already looking forward to summer. This semester (even though its only been a month) has been really hard. And I don't think it is going to get any better. But the summer should be great! Ellen and I have our plane tickets to New Zealand ... we are going to be gone for 3 weeks! I'm kind of scared for us ... especially since I'm afraid of airports. But I think we will be able to handle it. Hopefully.

Anyhoo, so last night for Overtime we watched The Princess Bride, and it reminded me of the time when Ellen and I were quarantined in the basement and survived on a carefully regimented system of watching The Princess Bride, and playing Nintendo, and then watching the Princess Bride before going to bed. Ah, good times. Last week at church there was a guest preacher and he sounded a lot like the Impressive Clergyman from Princess Bride. Ellen and I giggled a lot.

LOST returns this week!!!!! I'm going home next weekend!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!

    Back in 225 ...
I just finished up my last class of the day, which means the 3-day weekend is here! Hooray! My classes this semester are ok so far, but I'm dreading the amount of work that they will be. I've done homework every night this week! Talk about weird. What happened to college being a social activity? Do my profs think I'm actually here to learn!?!?!? How dare they.

Anyhoo, it's been a pretty good week (especially since I'm back in the awkward hugs of my roomie *wink*). I was actually kind of homesick at the beginning of the week, because I was missing Audra and my mom and Doug. I got a little misty at Cracker Barrel on Sunday when I was hugging Audra good-bye. And then it came time for Beauty and the Geek this week and there was no Audra's apartment, no extremely fluffy cookies, and no Tigger! But Ellen and Amanda (so the other 2 sisters, eh? haha) were here, so that makes up for it. I have to say that Mario and Nate are my favorite geeks. But I haven't watched the ending from this week's episode yet, so don't tell me who got kicked off!!! Why haven't I watched it yet? Well, on Wednesdays I babysit Nelly with Sarah at 8:30. So this Wednesday, Sarah came to pick me up like usual, I left Ellen and Amanda to their bonding time watching B&G, and went over to Nelly's. Once we got there, we saw Mel standing in their driveway/parking lot and we were like What are you doing out here, Mel? And apparently Craig had locked her out of their apartment while she was over visiting the neighbors. But don't worry, Nelly was with the neighbors, not inside their apartment!!! So we stood out in the parking lot for awhile, frantically calling and texting Craig and Jason, but neither of them picked up since they were at Bible Study. And then Andrea came to pick Mel up for their Bible Study ... and so some more calls and texts were sent to Craig and Jason. But not answer. Nelly was left with the neighbors, Andrea and Mel left for Bible Study, and Sarah and I just left. So that adventure caused me to miss the end of B&G. Don't worry though, Amanda taped it for me. She's such a great roomie.

Anyhoo, it's time to celebrate it being Friday and the 3 day weekend by eating some mini muffins and then taking a nap!!!

There's no place like Home for the Holidays!
No matter how far away you roam!

It is nice to be home on Christmas Break! I'm enjoying having complete freedom and not having to worry about any homework. I even was able to start reading for pleasure again! I'm working on reading a book in the Ender series, Speaker for the Dead. It's super good, but also kind of sad because Ender is all grown up and stuff and there are all sorts of changes. And I fear change.

Speaking of changes, there have been quite a few at the Rohn house! First, we got a new kitchen floor. It looks pretty snazzy. Also, for the first time ever, Doug didn't put the lights on the Christmas tree! Me, Audra, and Ellen did. I'm not sure if we followed Doug's system correcly (there is a large tangled mess of wires and plugs in the back of the tree, but the front looks pretty good). It was a three-day process, but it passed Doug's inspection. And lastly, we had Steve around for Christmas this year! Yup, we had one more stocking hanging on the mantle. It has been really fun. I like having a brother.

It's been nice to hang out with my LW friends, too. (Even though I miss my Miami friends, particularly my roomie and suitie) Dione is finally home from England! I didn't realize how much I missed her until I started thinking about her being home and the fact that I would be able to hear her voice once again! Sarah and I went to the airport to greet her, and we brought her some flowers and a stuffed penguin that we had named Billy. Although his full name is Billy Anico Folmer the Penguin. Catchy, huh?

Anyhoo, another reason why I like Christmas break is because I go to the movies a lot. I love going to see movies, but unfortunately because of the lack of decent theaters in a close vicinity of Oxford, I don't get to go as often as I would like when at school. And also I don't have Anna there to pay for it. Last Tuesday we went to a $4 movie and saw The Holiday (loved it!), and we are going again tonight, probably to see We Are Marshall. Hooray!

Something that hasn't been so pleasant, though, is that every night I have been having nightmares. They usually involve Miami and Miami people. One particularly dreadful one was that I was at Qdoba with some Navies, and Justin put me in charge of putting all the condiments on everyone's order, but I didn't know what they wanted because no one would TELL me! And then they all got mad because I was doing it wrong. Finally I got everyone's orders, and then it was my turn to eat, and they all left me there alone, without so much as a thank you! Geez! I was telling Ellen earlier today about the nightmare that I had last night and I said "in my dream I was on facebook, and it was all different and changed around!" and she said (a bit sarcastically) "that would indeed be a nightmare." So guess I should clarify that it was just a part of my dream, and the fact that facebook was different wasn't the nightmare. Something else horrible and scary was happening, but I don't really remember. Although, I do really hate it when facebook changes stuff. Probably because of my aforementioned fear of change. Anyhoo, perhaps I will have peaceful sleep tonight!

    Some Notable Quotables from Doug
Doug and Anna came to down to visit this weekend, which was pretty great. Although it made me want to go home and have this semester be over with even more! But those two crazy kids were up to their usual crazy antics. They made it to Navs in time to hear Ellen speak (which was awesome by the way! I got some great not-posed-at-all pics of Ellen talking! haha) but afterwards we were discussing what to do, and Doug was saying how they were pretty tired from driving. To prove his point, he whips out his watch and exclaims "It's 8:30! Bedtime!" And then he and Anna proceeded to go say hello to JBiegs, because he stayed at our house for 2 nights like 2 years ago, and Anna pretty much loves him. Anna also loves Jason, and that's REALLY who they came down to visit. Well, to go to the Glee Club Concert that he was in on Saturday. It was fun to have a night out with the fam--Doug, Anna, Ellen, Emma, and Amanda! We were only missing Audra and Amelia! haha

Before the concert we wanted to go to dinner at this pasta house called Paesano's here in Oxford. But when we got there it was about an hour and a half wait. Since we wouldn't have time to go to a different restaurant and make it to the concert on time, Doug suggested that we just go to ColdStone instead. Which we did. And Doug got to show off his mad parallel parking skillz one more time! He was doing it all weekend. Then when he was paying the meter, he was fishing through the coins in his wallet and making sure not to use a state quarter because he collects them. He told us how he has three big ziploc bags full of state quarters at home. We all of course were impressed, and then he said "Yeah! I'm gonna be rich when I take those to the bank!" haha! Oh that little Dougie. He also baked cookies for me and Ellen. Christmas tree cookies and gingerbread cookies. He even used Christmas cookie cutter shapes on the gingerbread ones. Unfortunately he didn't have time to decorate them, though, he told us sadly. But it's ok, because they are still quite tasty!

I can't wait to go home and hang out with Doug and Anna for Christmas break! yay!

    It's my birthday
I'm handling it much better than I thought I would. I've been a bit apprehensive because I'm 20 now, and I fear change. Although we signed the lease on our apartment for next year this week, so that kind of segwayed (hmm ... word?) into the grownup-ness. I'm super excited for that. Even though Amanda won't be there first semester. I'll miss her. She's the best roomie ever! And Danielle is the best suitie ever!

The three of us celebrated my birthday last night bc Danielle was leaving for home today. We went out to dinner at Fiesta Charra, and even though i said I was going to get something different from my usual Carne Asada ... I couldn't bring myself to do it. So Carne Asada it was! And then we came back to Flower Power and they gave me my presents. They bought me High School Musical on DVD (yay! Amanda and I are going to watch it tonight! woot!), and they made me a Happy Plate at You're Fired. For those of you who don't know, my roomie Amanda has a happy pillow as well as a happy tote bag. Basically it's just a plain pillowcase that has inside jokes/funny stuff written on it. So they made me a plate with all our favorite suitie jokes/memories written on it. It makes me Happy, which I guess is the point. Mission accomplished!

And then the rest of my present was a photo shoot. They know how much I love pictures of myself, and I have been wanting to take glamour shots (remember when those were cool?) for awhile now, so that's what we did! There werer background changes, props, bubbles, a fan, wardrobe changes, and lots of being pretty and giggling! yay! I haven't seen the pics yet (for some reason they won't let me ... grrr) but I will soon, and they'll probably be on facebook even sooner. haha.

I'm looking forward to tonight because I get to wear my birthday boots, which I bought a few weeks ago as a birthday present to myself. Yay! Also, my mom sent me cookies in the mail. And an interesting Pecan Almond Crunch trail mix type thing ... oh Anna's crazy antics.

Thanksgiving break is in just 5 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYYAYAYYY!!!! I can't wait to go home and cuddle with Ricky, eat good food, and RELAX!

It seems like all my entries are about the weekends ...
I really should write about the other five days of the week. But I'm not going to in this post, because this past weekend was Fall Break, Audra and Steve's wedding, and just a ton of fun in general! I'm on a major withdrawal from all the bonding time between me, Ellen, Bennett, Brock, and Sarah. And Doug and Anna, too of course. Doug was so happy to have willing listeners for him to talk about all of his guns.

The wedding was absolutely wonderful. I only slept about 2 hours the night before because I was SO nervous, but the day dawned and it was a beautiful fall day (albeit a little bit chilly, especially when you are taking pictures outside on the lakshore in strapless dresses). Everything went according to plan, I got to see Sarah for the first time in 2 months, the Dortons for the first time in 2 or 3 years, and hang out with some of my most favorite people in the whole world, aka Piper, Michael, Brock, Bennett, Al, Katelin, Jacob, Sarah, the Dortons, and all my great cousins.

The wedding was top-notch, but the weekend was just awesome in general. Bennett and Brock stayed for the whole weekend, so we went to all the cool Parma hangout places: Friendlys, Marc's, Handel's, State Road Park (to shoot off pop/mentos rockets ... something Doug has been wanting to do for a long time), and we also walked around BLS after church on Sunday. We went into the 3rd grade classroom, and Mrs. Burke is still doing the Mad Minute rockets on the wall! We also looked at some of the great artwork hanging in the halls ... some of those third graders sure know how to cut a pumpkin out of construction paper! And they were pretty creative with their themes for the maps of a made-up city they drew. I think my favorite was the Elvis Presley themed city with the Hunk of Burning Love Fire Station. Now that's classy.

To conclude the amazing-ness of the wonderful weekend was a fantastic journey home. Although it was a bit bittersweet because we didn't want the weekend to be over. Ellen and Bennett drove in Hank, and I got to ride with Brock in his car. We had a lot of fun bonding time. We did some Mad-Libs, and Brock introduced me to the idea of having a theme for the words you used. So for one mad lib we chose the theme of The Wedding. The Mad-lib was about Julius Caeser, so for one of the fill-ins the prompt was a Famous Italian. Obviously there weren't any famous Italians at the wedding, so we went with Ryan Ben-ito. So the ending line was "Et tu, Ryan Ben-ito" heehee We also discussed what your top 5 favorite songs of ALL time would be if you had to choose. I've got my 1 and 2 (Faithfully by Journey and Strawberry Wine by Deanna Carter), but the other 3 are pretty hard to pick. Right up there would be A Whole New World from Aladdin, Wouldn't It Be Nice by the Beach Boys, Angel Eyes by the Jeff Healy band, Annie's Song by John Denver, It's Not Just Me by Rascal Flatts, Always by Bon Jovi ... and the list goes on and on and on!!!

But I DO know that in the top 1,000 hours of my life, this weekend would be right up there with Europe trip.

    A happy weekend :~)
I absolutely love my suities! We have had just the most fabulous weekend together. It started off on Friday with a lovely trip to Coldstone and then a girly movie. But the girliness didn't end there, oh no. It continued on Saturday with Amanda and I heading over to the Lil White Box to help decorate for Elsa and Claire's 21st Classic Movie Star themed Birthday partAy! And boy was it a good time! The decorating committee did a fabulous job, if I do say so myself. Even Pat. And I also discovered the latest fashion. As Amanda and I were getting ready to put the table skirt on the table, I instead wrapped it around myself and made a lovely tiered plastic dress complete with a train! Very stylish.

Once the decorating was completed, Amanda and I came back to the greatness that is the 225/227 Flower Suite to get ready for the party. We got all gussied up in our new brown dresses (unfortunately the table skirt was needed for the table, so I could not wear my new fashion invention), and then headed back to the Box. And the party was so wonderfully elegant and fun! There was a red carpet, wonderful food, charming music, delightful guests, fabulous fashions, and more! I think all the ladies really appreciated a night to get dressed up and look pretty. And of course, having the paparazzi document it and then post the pictures on facebook! Most of the day today has been spent perusing the various new albums that have been popping up. I mean uh ... working on that homework ...

Anyhoo, and then today my suities and I decided to take a break from facebook/homework and head to Colerain for a fabulous dinner at Olive Garden! Naturally I ordered my usual Garlic Herb Chicken con Broccoli and it was delicious, of course. And I also have some leftovers which means I get to eat mooooore Broccoli? hahahaha

I think it's pretty crazy that I posted last year on October 1st. Ah, time.

    Saturday musings ...
I've got lots of things to be excited about! First off ... I'm super excited about the apartment that I am going to be living in next year! (well hopefully ... i haven't technically turned in the application yet, but whatever) Anyhoo, it's going to be super sweet! We'll each have our own bedroom AND bathroom. It comes fully furnished, and I'm pretty thrilled about having a kitchen and the chance to cook. Of course, I LOVE where I'm living this year because I love my roomie and suities, but it will be fun to get off campus. Although I feel just a bit too grown-up. That's a hard thing to come to grips with! If it was some crappy hole of an apartment I would probably feel better and more like a college student. But this apartment is nice. Like NIIIICE. It has a pool! YAY!

In less than one month, it will be Audra's wedding!! What is soooo great about this is 1. I get to wear a pretty dress 2. The Dortons are coming 3. I get to see Sarah!!! Soooo exciting!!!

And also, I've become a pretty big Grey's Anatomy fan. Amanda has been working on Season 2, and I guess so have I. It's a pretty good show, and I enjoy it. Even though we are watching it right now and Izzy is being really annoying. And is about to kill a guy she claims she loves. Oh well, it's not my favorite show. That's still LOST! October 4!

    A pretty great weekend :~)
Audra came to visit me! Twas much fun. She got here right on time *cough* on Saturday, and we got to go out to dinner in Hamilton(!) with friends, and my steak was excellent. Oh but on Saturday while we were waiting for Audra to arrive, Amanda and I went to You're Fired and painted pottery. I did a mug. And we're going back this week to do more! YAY! But on the way home we saw this MASSIVE caterpillar ... seriously as long as my hand and about an inch wide. We took pictures to prove it!

Anyhoo, back to Audra's visit ... after dinner on Saturday we went and played a Murder in the Carribbean murder mystery game. Amanda and I were cast as the rich snob. I don't know if it was because I was dressed for the part (it was a Carribbean themed party, so I came as the rich tourist) or because the character had striking similarities to my own personality. But I didn't murder the guy, so don't worry!!

And on Sunday was fireworks in Cincy!! So great!! The carpool down with me, Audra, and Bennett was fun. Lots of bonding. Bennett decided to make a stop at Wendys because we were all hungry. We pull up to the order thing, and I tell Bennett that I want my usual Junior Bacon Chesseburger with no Cheese. He gives me a quizzical look as to inquire "isn't that the same thing as a junior bacon HAMburger?" But the answer to that is absolutely NOT! I have learned the hard way that when you order a junior bacon HAMburger they STILL put cheese on it. So I told him "Don't you dare say Hamburger! You must order properly!" And he did, and ta-da my cheeseburger had no cheese! And then when we pull up to the pick up window, the guy says "can you please pull up a little bit and then pull back?" So bennett, very confused, pulled up about 8 feet, and then pulled right back to where we were in front of the window, and then our food was handed to us. This phenomenon was never explained to us.

The fireworks were awesome. I love fireworks, and didn't get to see any on the 4th of July, so this more than made up for it. And I got to cuddle with Amanda, which is always pleasant. ;~)

But yesterday, Audra left early, and I was super-dee-dooper sad and depressed, because her visiting made me miss her even more, if that's possible. So, in order to cheer me up, Amanda stepped up to the plate of being the best roommate ever and resolved to take me to therapy. That is, to a mall. We drove about an hour away to Kenwood mall, and Amanda of course parked right in front of Ann Taylor Loft, my most favorite store ever. But alas, all the wonderful, beautiful clothes I tried on were too expensive for my poor college student budget. We continued on our way shopping, until eventually we come to regular Ann Taylor, which is normally more expensive than ATLoft, but we decide to go in anyway. And there, I find it!! The most beautiful dress, last one, my size, and over 50% off!! Try it on and oooooohhhhh the beauty! So naturally Amanda convinces me to splurge (although it didn't take much convincing) and now I have a lovely dress in my possession and I can't wait to wear it. I only need to find some shoes to match! Which of course means, another shopping trip! Woot! And thus, my depression was cured.

    Hm, where to begin?
August has been a busy month. Audra's bridal shower, getting ready for school, moving to Miami, beginning my sophomore year. I've been here at Miami for a little over a week now, and it's so great. Great to be back. Amanda and I have been decorating our room non-stop, and I absolutely loooove it! Especially how pink it is. I've decided to not talk about all that I have been doing and instead write about all the things I love about Amanda, the best roomie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-She loves pink just like me
-she leaves me notes in the mornings
-she lets me have some of her drawer space for all of my clothes
-she likes our room super cold, just like me (woohoo for AC!!!)
-she has lots of magazines and lets me read them
-she drives me places in her car
    -we have actual conversations
-she listens to me complain about all my irrational dilEMMAs
-she leaves room on the bookshelf for me to climb up into the top bunk
-when I'm in the top bunk and have forgotten something, she gets it for me
-she lets me listen to Celine and sing along loudly and off key
-she brought chocolate for me for when I have my cravings
-She handles me and my ways soooooo well!!!

And of course there is sooooo much more!!!

    AKG ... GROHAK ... AMANDA ... LOU-SER ... beautiful!!!

Drivin down the road I get a feeling that I shoulda been home yesterday ... YESTERDAY
Hillybilly reunion was yesterday. It was actually quite a good time. Even though we got there after most of the food was gone. But I got a piece of my chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and it was excellent. But probably the best part of the day was getting to meet cute, adorable, sweet, little Amelia, the newest addition to the family. She's such a happy baby and so pretty! I wish I could see her more often. All the little cousins were so cute. Too bad there wasn't any volleyball ... I guess Ellen and I will have to show off our allstar skills next year. If I don't pull my hamstring chopping wood.

Back to school in 2ish weeks! I'm excited to go back for the social aspect of it, and for me and Amanda's awesome room, but I most definitely do not want to go back to the school part. Shucks.

    Almost heaven, West Virginia

    Boredom of Summer ...
It's true ... the boredom of summer has set in. Pretty much all I do is read, watch TV, work, sleep, go to Curves, and hang out with Ellen and Sarah. Granted all these things are pretty enjoyable on their own, but still it gets boring after a while, just doing those things over and over. Besides hanging out with Ellen and Sarah. That is ALWAYS exciting!!!!!!

I finally started on my summer reading list. I was stupid and waited to July to start REALLY reading (not just the occasionally reading) all the books that I wanted to read this summer, and now I am in a hurry because I realize that summer is about 1/2 way over and I probably won't be able to finish them all! That makes me upset. Currently I am working on Lord of the Rings. I'm close to being done with Two Towers (actually, I gave myself until today to finish it ... I only have 2 or 3 chapters to go, so I will be staying right on schedule!) I just have to say that I absolutely LOOOOOOOVE Faramir .... *sigh* His character in the movies is not at all as dreamy as he is in the books (although he's pretty dreamy in the movies, too ...)

But with all of my reading I have come to realize how much I absolutely love books! It's a good thing I'm an English Education major ... I can make everyone else love books too!!

    I love being girly!!
I'm definitely in a girly place right now! Of course, when am I not? I got my first paycheck from TCP today, so that was exciting. I had to fight the urge to spend it, especially since Victoria's Secret, Express, and New York $ Co are ALL having really great sales! So I had to settle for just buying one shirt from NY&Co for only $10! I was pretty excited. Although, I had this huge dilEMMA because I couldn't decide what color to get it in, but eventually I wound up choosing PINK, which is pretty much my fave color. And then, I got to wear it out tonight on my girly night with Sarah, Ellen, Audra, and Mom! It was fun! Doug and Anna just got back today from being camping all week, so Mom decided to hang out with us girls since she hadn't seen us all week (I offered to let her take me shopping at the afore-mentioned sales tomorrow, but she said no). We went out and saw The Lake House, which I of course LOVED! Because I love girly movies! Especially the ones that I can get emotionally invested in (which is pretty much every movie I have ever seen) and this was definitely one of those!

Well, to continue the girliness, I am going to go to sleep in my room that has pink and purple walls and think about how tomorrow I am going to paint my nails and schedule an appointment to get my hair cut ... sweet dreams!

    Mmm Godmother's Pizza!
Hard to believe June is almost halfway over, isn't it? It feels like summer is now just beginning, but that's almost halfway over, too! I've got a job at Parmatown, so that's exciting. Hung out with Ellen and Bennett and Al this weekend. And saw Jason for a bit, too. DBG show is this week ... I helped backstage with dress rehearsal yesterday and it made me sad because I miss it. I'm going to actually watch the show tonight, so let's hope that I will be able to handle it.

Probably the highlight of the weekend was hanging out with Dione at the Rascal Flatts concert! We don't get to have GTT as much anymore because of our busy-ness, and that makes me sad. But at least we got to have fun at Rascal Flatts, even if the concert was a little disappointing.

    Dear Rascal Flatts,

Why you feel the need to do a bunch of cover songs when you have plenty of material to fill an hour and 15 minutes, I will never know. I will continue to support you because I love you, but with all of your great songs, I wish you would have played more of them, and that I didn't have to wait through stiff banter and blips of cover songs in between each one. If you feel the need to continue with the banter and cover songs, please lengthen the time that you are on stage so that you can fit in all the songs that I (and all the other fans) wanted to hear.

    Respectfully yours,
    Emma

Ah, Summer - what power you have to make us suffer and like it
It's hot! All of a sudden, Summer has come upon me! On Saturday I cut up and ate my first summer watermelon and went to the first summer cookout. And this weekend is the first summer West Virginia trip. Of course, I didn't go, but still. And also this weekend was my first summer SWIM!! Ah, how I love the pool! And now, it's insanely hot and here I am in my shorts and tank top sitting in front of a fan. If that's not summer, I don't know what is.

The cookout was a lot of fun, but it made me miss my childhood. Hanging out at the Zacharis's was just like the old days ... and we reminisced (I don't really know if that's how you spell it) about the good old swim team days ... *sigh* that was the life! The majority of the day spent at the pool, hanging out with friends, sitting on top of that carriage thing, Anna and Sue nowhere to be found ... how amazing.

And last night was quite the wild summer night. It began with meeting Peter, Sarah, and Kelly for 707. It was a good service, and I saw a ton of people I know! All sorts of L-dubbers and girls from the dance studio! Afterwards, all we wanted was some ice cream, so of course we headed to Handel's! It was unfortunately closed, however, so we decided to go to Friendly's. Dropping off all of our cars at the Rohn household, Peter (being the manly man that he is) volunteered to drive us girlies around, so we all piled in. After lots of crazy driving on Peter's part, we hear a strange thumping noise. We brilliantly deduce that it is probably a flat tire, so Peter turns into the Parmatown mall parking lot (deserted, because it was 11ish p.m.) and we discover that it is indeed a flat tire. We girls stare at Peter expectantly, and at this moment he confesses that he doesn't know how to change a tire. So, being the genius women that they are, Sarah and Kelly successfully get the spare tire out of the trunk and all the tools we need. Except the jack was stuck, and we couldn't figure out how to get it out. At this moment, Sarah flags down a Parmatown Mall Security truck. The man, who we affectionately named Lou, jumps out and when Peter told him that he couldn't change a tire, he exclaimed "You don't know how to change a tire!?!? Didn't you take shop!?!?" No fear, for Lou is here. Lou whips out his flashlight and tries to pull the jack out, but with no success. At this time, Kelly, the genius of the group, pulls out the owner's manual and begins to read aloud from the "Jacking Up the Car" section. With the use of the manual and the diagrams, we manage to get out the jack. Peter and Lou go to work, all the while with Kelly reading the manual. It becomes apparent at this time that Lou has no idea what he is doing either. He puts Peter's muscles to work jacking up the car, and he whips out a cigarette and a skull lighter. "Any of you guys smoke?" he asks. We all say no, and he replies "No (expletive)! Well, you're smarter than my generation." He smokes for a little bit, and then asks, "You guys still in high school?" Again, we say no, and again we get the same expletive reply. We were a little offended, because Sarah and I hadn't even started acting stupid out of boredom yet. Of course, Sarah was wearing a safari hat and binoculars that she found in the back of Peter's car, which may have made her appear younger than she is (or just crazy). Time goes on, and Lou is working on the tire while Peter is on the phone with his parents. Kelly notices that Lou is doing the exact opposite of what the owner's manual says, so she goes to help. But Lou won't let her!! His reasoning is that "It's a guy thing." Well, eventually Peter comes back and finishes the tire. In the meantime, Lou has smoked a few more cigarettes, told us how he had a real job in 2001, and complained about how Parmatown doesn't give him the right keys to stuff. We get back in the car, wave goodbye to Lou, and set off. By this time, Friendly's is closed, so we meander over to Giant Eagle, pick up some cookie dough, and head back to the Rohn household to make sundaes. Peter requests Aladdin, so we pop it in. We sure were in for a treat! Peter sang along to all the songs and even did a fancy little Arabian shimmy for us. During the movie I asked one of my favorite bonding questions, which is "If you could date a Disney character, which would it be?" My response was Li Shang from Mulan, Sarah's was King Triton, Kelly's was the Beast, and Peter's was Jasmin. At this point in the movie, Jasmin was explaining to the Sultan how she wants to get married for love. "Look at her!" Peter sighs. And then he explains to us how he also likes her beacause she is tan.

Peter then goes home, leaving us girls with nothing better to do other than change Peter's facebook profile, which he CONVENIENTLY left logged in. We added in some of our favorite quotes from Lou, said that he's in a relationship with Jasmin, and changed his picture to one of Jasmin and Aladdin.

I saw Sarah for the first time since Christmas!!
I've been home for a few days now. It's pretty nice. Quite uneventful, but nice. The big event so far was seeing Sarah last night!!! We hugged and cuddled and giggled and it was wonderful just to be in her house again!! And of course, I got to hang out with her mom which is always a treat and I absolutely LOVE it.

Doug and Anna are pretty excited that Ellen and I are home. Well, Anna is. And Doug is too, he was just complaining last night that the house isn't quiet anymore. But really Ellen and I aren't that loud, except for when we play some pretty intense games of foosball, screeching 80s songs or Star Wars music at the top of our lungs. And celebrating each goal and victory. Yup, that can be pretty loud. But at least we are in our quarantine of the basement!! Haha. Oh, Doug. I feel like now is a good time to tell a tidbit about Doug ... when we were moving me out of my dorm last Friday, I handed him a box and he was like Ooo my shoulder! and told me that he had hurt it. I asked him how he hurt it, and his reply was "Doing pushups" hahaha!! Oh, I can just imagine. Him and Anna like to do the physical fitness trail at the park at the end of our street, and I bet he was trying to impress her. No need, Doug, we all already think you're pretty great!

OH! In excellent news, I bought 13 Going on 30 ... the FUN and FLIRTY edition, which means the box is all pink and sparkly! YAY! It makes me pretty happy.

I'm pretty excited for when the L-dub gang can be reunited and we can watch He Loves Me He Loves Me Not because I have YET to watch it from when I bought it MONTHS ago!
